Markus und Frank von KURT, TEN VOLT SHOCK und MAULGRUPPE sind seit 2012 als Duo YASS aktiv und werden voraussichtlich im Sommer ihre dritte LP aufnehmen. 
YASS ist eine Symbiose aus Postpunk, Noiserock, Synth Loops und pulsierenden Beats. Referenzen sind Psychic Graveyard, Electric Electric oder Trans Am. 
Das OX-Fanzine schreibt: „So hat definitiv noch keine Band geklungen...Yass sind bar jeder mir bekannten Referenz, außer vielleicht den Bands, in denen die beiden Herren sonst tätig sind, nur entfernen sie sich mit dieser LP in großen Schritten 
davon, um ein eigenes Universum zu schaffen.“ 
Das True Trash Fanzine meint: „Yass spielen Punk-Noise-Cyber-Indie-Rock...aber auch das greift zu kurz und kann die Vielfalt und Breite des Duos nicht erfassen. Das ist auch relativ schwer in Worte zu fassen. Ziemlich abgefahrene Mischung. Und einzigartig. Sehr, sehr einzigartig."

AACKR machen Noiserock, instrumental, mal reduziert, mal brachial, nicht mehr, nicht weniger.
Dabei reizen sie ihre Möglichkeiten konsequent aus, spielen immer wieder mit gängigen Klischees und Erwartungen.
Reduktion als Chance könnte das Motto sein.

Die Band um den Pariser „Alt-Mocker“ Astro (Bang!, Tribe) orientiert sich musikalisch an ihren Vorbildern aus den 60er Jahren. Hier seien Bands wie The Seeds oder The Creation, aber auch Love und The Byrds genannt. Freakbeat Sound trifft auf Psychedelic und Garagepunk! Seit einiger Zeit wird die Band durch den zweiten Gitarristen Seva ergänzt, der seines Zeichens auch einer der Frontmänner bei Karovas Milkshake ist. Technicolor Noir haben gerade die Aufnahmen für ihr erstes Album beendet, das bald auf Vinyl erscheinen wird.

Jane Lee Hooker exploded out of New York City in 2015, with members having spent time playing in Nashville Pussy, Bad Wizard, Helldorado, Lez Zeppelin, NYC punk rockers The Wives and Plasmatics offshoot New Hope. The band released a revved up album of Blues covers titled ‘No B!’ in 2016, and were immediately signed to legendary German Blues label Ruf Records. ‘Spiritus’ followed in 2017 and found Jane Lee Hooker touring extensively in support of these records - performing to packed houses across the US and Europe including Germany, France, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Luxembourg. 

While Jane Lee Hooker’s blend of rock, blues, punk, R&B and soul pays respect to the greats of the past, this is a band that lives fiercely in the present tense. JLH’s fiery performances have made them a must-see live act, and feature the muscular lead guitars of Tracy Hightop and Tina Gorin, the rock-solid rhythm section of bassist Mary Z and drummer Ron Salvo and soul-scorching lead vocals courtesy of Dana Athens. This five piece from Utrecht creates their own mix of emo, punk and rock full of raw vocals, sturdy guitars and infectious melodies. The band is not afraid to give their opinion on personal and sensitive issues, such as discussing mental health, alcohol and drug use among young people.
The band formed in 2018 and found its current line up in the fall of that year. In early 2019, the band released the EP 'Prove You Wrong'. This was celebrated with a release show in Paradiso. The EP was supported by two lead singles: 'Something New' & 'Strayed From The Path'. The first mentioned song was featured on Jared Dines' YouTube channel with 2.9 million subscribers, and the second gained a lot of attention on Spotfiy, giving the band their first song with over 100.000 streams. 
This gave the band their first international publicity and attention. 
In 2020, in the middle of the corona pandemic, the band released their EP 'Disconnected'. The EP received positive reviews from the likes of 'Guitarist' and 'Musicmaker'.

Hier wurden offenbar die Neunziger-Kataloge von Crypt und In The Red tief verinnerlicht. Blues und Punk geben sich den Klinkenstecker in die Hand, OBLIVIANS, BANTAAM ROOSTER und GORIES winken freundlich zum Gruße.

Darunter mischt sich das genreübliche Tamtam: die Stand-Tom wird malträtiert, an Distortion nicht gespart, der Sound ist roh und unpoliert. So weit, so durchschnittlich, aber was die Platte wirklich aus der Masse an Veröffentlichung in diesem Genre herausragend lässt, ist das Melodiengespür der Finnen.

Herrje, da bleibt ja wirklich mehr als die Hälfte der Tracks sofort hängen. Der Sänger hat zudem auch noch was auf dem Kasten, lässt in den souligsten Momenten die NEW BOMB TURKS durchschimmern, während die Platte in puncto Brachialität bedenkenlos neben denen von THE ACHTUNGS einsortiert werden könnte.
