Though you almost undoubtedly know him as the self-effacing frontman  of prolific New York scene heavyweights The Slackers, Vic Ruggiero has carved out an almost-equal name for himself as a solo artist. Releasing solo acoustic albums since 2001, Vic has pulled double duty performing his own material in between The Slacker’s already extensive touring schedule. This is, of course, in addition to Vic’s collaborations with Jesse Wagner of The Aggrolites (Reggae Workers of the World) and Tim Armstrong of Rancid (as Silencers), among many others. The material in Vic’s solo output contains a lot of the high-level songwriting that makes The Slackers so prolific, however sonically often strays into the territory of blues or alt-country. Even if that doesn’t sound like your thing, rest assured that Vic makes it work, as shown by material off his latest solo album, This, released back in 2014. Of course, we could have just as easily replaced this entire paragraph with “It’s Vic, from The Slackers” and you would be just as excited.

Central American Death Thrash Metal band from San José, Costa Rica, founded in 1988. Mantra was the first foreign Thrash Metal band to play in Cuba in 1997, they have an extensive discography with 4 demos and 8 albums, their latest album "Omnipotente" manages to capture the essence of the band with a fairly pure Death/thrash sound characteristic of the band. They have been a support band for two Latin American tours for Paul Dianno (Iron Maiden), who also recorded the voice in "Master of my life" from the album "Building: Hell". In 2016 Mantra opened for Slayer on their first visit to Costa Rica at the monumental Saprissa Stadium in the capital, throughout the band’s career they have shared the stage inside and outside their country with numerous important bands such as Kreator, Anthrax, Helloween, Unleashed, Pestilence, Destruction, Virgin Steele among many others. Mantra have toured in many countries of South America, Central America, North America and Europe, these tours have made them one of the best-known bands in the Central American region despite the little support that bands of this genre receive in this part of the world.
Mantra is currently working on a European tour for 2024 in which they aim to cover as many places and festivals as possible in Europe such as England, Latvia, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Rumania, Slovenia and other countries.

Durch ihren Neuzugang, Frontfrau und Sängerin Susanne Pemmerl aus München, überschreitet die 6-köpfige Band endlich die Grenze und gibt ihr Deutschland-Debut.

Nachdem ihr erstes Album ausschließlich aus Coverversionen bestand, enthält das zweite Album nun auch Eigenkompositionen im selben nostalgischen Sinne von John Barry und Lalo Schifrin, für die Gitarrist, Trompeter und musikalischer Leiter Philippe Simon-Girard verantwortlich zeichnet. Authentischer Vintage-Sound mit Posaune (Marcus Hett), psychedelischen Orgelklängen (Lucas Gentilhomme), kraftvoll-dynamischen Drums (Etienne Meyer), und nicht zuletzt gitarristisch anmutenden Bassläufen (Sebastien Grienti), integriert sich hervorragend in die Sammlung an Serien-Originalen vergangener Zeiten und schreit förmlich danach, einem Filmproduzenten zu Ohren zu kommen.

Alicja Trout is a musician from Memphis, TN active 1995-present. Her band include River City Tanlines, Lost Sounds, Sweet Knives, MouseRocket, Black Sunday, Destruction Unit, the Ultracats, Nervous Patterns, Fresh Flesh and her solo recordings as Alicja-Pop
The River City Tanlines (the name being a play on the concept of a “farmer tan”) is a three-piece rock band from Memphis, TN. Alicja Trout, the principle songwriter, is a veteran of countless noteworthy punk/indie bands over the years, including The Clears (Smells Like Records), The Lost Sounds (In the Red Records, Fat Possum) and her other current projects, Alicja-pop, MouseRocket and Black Sunday. Likewise, the powerful rhythm section of Terrence Bishop and John Bonds are no strangers to success, having played together behind such names as Jack Oblivian, R.L. Burnside, Jim Dandy & Black Oak Arkansas, and Monsieur Jeffrey Evans. In 2009 the Tanlines appeared in Craig Brewer´s (Hustle and Flow, Black Snake Moan) web-series (and soundtrack) for MTV, “Five Dollar Cover,” and performed “I´m Your Negative” in a rollerderby f ight scene. They also have a song (“Black Knight,” a crowd favorite at live shows) featured in the EA Sports video game Skate. Together since late 2004, the band has toured extensively in North America and Europe playing clubs and festivals, and has ten releases on various record labels around the world. Their album “I´m Your Negative” was released in 2006 by Dirtnap Records out of Portland, OR.
