The Wounded Healer, their forthcoming first album as PREYRS alongside longtime guitarist Nolan Donelly and new bass player Ciarán McGreevy, represents a monumental shift in the way the band lives and breathes with creativity and collaboration unleashed as a fully fleshed out fourpiece, rather than writing and performing under Amy’s name alone.
Embracing this reinvention of the band at a fundamental level, PREYRS even reworked their writing and recording process. Amy and Micheal decamped to Canada’s Wolfe Island, a 48-square mile island on Lake Ontario, in the dead of winter and set up a studio on the ground floor of their small, otherwise quiet hotel. They spent a month overlooking the frozen lake, safe from the -20 degrees outside, and left having written the entirety of The Wounded Healer before Micheal recorded and produced it at his own
Tree Song Studios just outside Belfast.
This profound seachange can clearly be heard in the music too, it’s raw, potent and intoxicating. Freed from the assumptions and expectations that might have followed their previous moniker, PREYRS have created something altogether different whilst simultaneously building on an already impressive oeuvre.
Inspired by highly influential Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung’s writings on ‘the wounded healer’ which explore the concept of an entity, be it a person or a nation, developing the capacity for empathy and healing through welcoming and embracing their own past traumas and vulnerabilities, The Wounded Healer is itself proudly full of dualities, conflicts and juxtapositions.
After breathtaking album opener ‘Humble Eyes’, lead single ‘Wave of Wisdom’ immediately lays this concept bare as Amy’s incandescent delivery of uncertainty, “lesson learned / don’t know how / but here I am again / stronger than before”, soars over a defiantly discordant clash of alt-folk slide guitar and Mormecha’s pummeling industrial percussion.
Elsewhere, the high-octane ‘Zeros, Ones & Lies’ wrestles with the spiritual toll of being fed constant footage of atrocity and catastrophe by a media that accepts no responsibility for their part in the global race to the bottom. As such, the track bursts into furious life with urgent, double-time drums met by guitars distorted to the brink of destruction before the song all but caves in on itself as Amy quietly asks of us “Can you feel it? / like a river / it flows so silently / it flows so violently”. By contrast, ‘Bring Ur Bruises’ radiates resplendent, self-empowering positivity. Centred once again on the concept of the wounded healer, ‘Bring Ur Bruises’ implores the listener to welcome their trauma in, to own it and wear it as a paradoxical means of ultimately letting it go as triumphant, reverb-soaked guitars soar ever higher.
If it wasn’t already clear, PREYRS are no strangers to doing things differently and, across every iteration, the band have always taken a DIY approach to every aspect of their existence. From covering themselves in paint and rolling over every single early album cover to, until recently, booking all of their own shows and festivals as diverse as Glastonbury, Green Man (UK), Blizzarrrd Rock (GER) and Bloodstock (UK), last year the band found themselves touring the UK as Amy Montgomery in support of musical heroes and British post-punk legends New Model Army.
In November they will be joining New Model Army again on tour across Europe, but this time as PREYRS performing tracks from The Wounded Healer, the same four people but an entirely different beast.

„anderswo“ steht dort, wo Velvet Underground auf Postpunk trifft, wo Lou Reed und Punkblues mit der schmutzigen Eleganz von The Gun Club kollidieren. Der Umfang reicht von Lo-Fi-Songs mit rauer Intimität über Indie-Pop-Nummern mit eigenem Twist bis hin zu Rock’n’Roll. Dazwischen: tanzbare Headbanger, die treiben, drücken und nicht stillstehen lassen. Musik für verschwitzte Clubs, wackelnde Bühnen und offene Ohren.

Die im Frühjahr 2023 gegründete Metallic-Hardcore-Band Untold Fury bringt frischen Wind in Hannovers Hardcore-Szene. Mit ihrem Mix aus Hardcore mit Elementen des Thrash-Metal untermalt die Band die wuchtige Stimme der Sängerin und erschafft so einen einzigartigen Sound. Im Dezember 2024 erschien Ihr Debüt-Album “Collapse Of Confirmity”.

Speed Bump ist eine vegane Hardcore Band aus Herford. Do it yourself ist der Spirit.

Tigerjunge sind ein Mix aus DAF und Prodigy.

ASSFALT aus Düsseldorf spielen Noisy EBM-Punk: Laut, roh und kompromisslos. Die Band verbindet brachiale Basslinien, deutschsprachige Vocals, Live-Drums und übersteuerten Noise zu einem eigenständigen Sound – irgendwo zwischen DAF, frühem Industrial und DIY-Punk. Ihr Motto: "EBM für Sitztanz".

VIOLETTE SOUNDS, gegründet 2012, war zunächst als einmaliges Herzensprojekt und eine Art Tagebuch von Schlagzeuger/Sänger Karl Henneberg gedacht, der den Erlebnissen und Emotionen aus den letzten 40 Jahren seines Lebens auf musikalische Weise Ausdruck verleihen wollte. In Uwe Böttcher (Bass, Violine) und Matthias Vogel (Gitarre) waren schnell Mitstreiter gefunden, mit denen Henneberg, zusammen mit weiteren befreundeten Musikern, die Song-Ideen in einen Mix aus Progressive/Psychedelic/Jazz und atmosphärischem 70er Jahre Rock packte. Im gleichen Jahr erschien das 18 Songs starke VIOLETTE SOUNDS – Album „Feelin‘ Inside“.

Peach Melba ist ein frisches Garage-/Psych-Trio aus Köln. Inspiriert von Bands wie Thee Oh Sees, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Meatbodies oder Fuzz, steht roher Sound und das Fuzz-Pedal im Mittelpunkt. 2024 erschien das Debütalbum „Melting Face“ auf dem Berliner Label The Lasting Dose Records, aufgenommen von Jan Oberg in den Hidden Planet Studios. Für 2026 ist die zweite Platte angekündigt. Es wird schneller, vertrackter und noch lauter.

Korte am Nil klingen wie ein Tagtraum, der plötzlich seine Zähne zeigt. Das Trio aus Köln liebt Kontraste: verträumte Synths treffen auf düsteren Bass und wuchtige Drums, während Kortes tiefer Gesang mit intensiver Präsenz über allem schwebt. Zwischen Slowcore, Dream Rock, Post Punk und Psychedelic-Gaze entstehen Klanglandschaften, in denen Stille ebenso viel Gewicht hat wie Noise. Aus dem Spannungsfeld von Melancholie und Wut formen Korte am Nil einen Sound, der sich Kategorisierungen entzieht.

Manufraktur 0815 Punk für die Wut im Bauch und Special Effects für den Spaß dabei. Die vierer Truppe aus Köln & Umgebung bedient sich stilistisch gerne an allem, was das Punk-Universum der drei Akkorde zu bieten hat. Fehlende Expertise wird durch Charme & Seifenblasen kompensiert. Quasi „Schlachtrufe BRD“ in modern und zeitgemäß. Mit „scheisse verbuddeln“ gibt es seit 2022 das erste D.I.Y-Album.

Masche 3000 besteht aus vier Musikerinnen – Drums, Gitarre, Bass und Gesang – Punkrock halt. 
Bunt, queer, angepisst und liebevoll, mit einer ordentlichen Portion Humor. 
Zynisch und hoffnungsvoll und mit riesigem Spaß an der Sache, werden fast alle Texte gemeinsam geschrieben und komponiert. Bandleader gibbet nich und wolln se auch nich.

Moped Talking: 80s, Punk und 80sPunk! Die gescheiterten Lehrer aus dem Sauerland sind zurück! Billiger Sythnitrash trifft Straßenschlacht bis der (Handy)Akku glüht. Auf ihrer Abschiedstournee nach 40 Jahren kehren Moped Talking nun endlich zurück zu ihren Wurzeln, dem Sonic Ballroom. From Köln Kalk with Love.

Founded in Cologne in 2013, Plainride have long earned their place among the champions of Germany’s Heavy Rock underground. Never quite belonging to any particular genre clique, the band has garnered a reputation for their sweat-drenched, high octane live shows (more than 130 in 9 countries to date) as well as their eclectic repertoire – experimenting with violin, organ, and harmonica from an early stage in their career. Hailed by some as the German response to Clutch, Plainride’s songs frequently feature cryptic mythological references and fierce social criticism – wrapped in catchy riffs and big choruses reminiscent of Heavy Rock greats like Monster Magnet and Soundgarden. 2023 & 2024 saw Plainride bouncing back strong from the pandemic with the release of their third, self-titled album to critical acclaim, supporting U.S. Sludge & Roll legends Corrosion Of Conformity on their 20-date European tour as well as opening at several shows for Icelandic Retro Rockers The Vintage Caravan and legendary supergroup The Winery Dogs.
