TV Cult [Köln] / Lower Slaughter [Brighton]
Post-PunkCologne, Germany based “brutal post-punks” TV CULT released their second full-length record, ‘INDUSTRY', on 10th October 2025. With their current album, TV CULT are set to chart darker waters than ever before, exploring themes including the decline of western culture and rejecting the belief systems that are presented to us.
Recorded by Christoph Scheidel at 79 Sound Studios in Cologne, the album was mixed at Holy Mountain Studios, London by Misha Hering (High Vis, IDLES) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Off!, Sleep, Stranger Things OST) at Audiosiege, Portland.
The artwork for ‘INDUSTRY’ features a photograph from world famous Cologne based photographer Boris Becker’s ‘Konstruktionen’ series (http://www.boris-becker.com).
Since the four-piece released their widely praised debut LP ‘COLONY’ in November 2023 via Flight 13 Records TV CULT have meanwhile completed their own headline tours across Europe and the UK as well as supported hot property names like High Vis, DITZ, Militarie Gun, Poison Ruin, The Horrors and Home Front along their way.
The band are currently riding a wave of underground press frenzy, and are now setting their sights on taking their brutalist approach to even wider international audiences. TV CULT’s ‘Industry’ received exceptional press coverage in the UK and USA, including air time on NPR, BBC Radio, KEXP, as well as RBB and BR in Germany.
Having ploughed through the UK underground for over a decade, Brighton’s Lower Slaughter unexpectedly returned in 2024 after an extended hiatus, with a shift in personnel, a new line-up & most recently a brand new album ‘Deep Living’, out on Human Worth!
The four piece once described themselves modestly as a band “who make loud riffs” though The Quietus description of “lurching noise-rock that occasionally works the angles but is chiefly a showpiece for big fuck-off riffs that call to mind Pissed Jeans, Nirvana and Harvey Milk” may be more accurate, and most certainly still holds true now.
Since their debut album release in 2017, the band has garnered high praise from the likes of BBC Radio 1 & BBC 6Music, The Quietus, Louder Than War, Artrocker (no.1 album of 2019), All Music, Loud & Quiet and Flush The Fashion, as well as finding fans among the likes of Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Shaun Keaveny, John Kennedy & cult comedy legend Stewart Lee, whilst also sharing stages with such bands as Pigs x7, Melt Banana, Pissed Jeans, JOHN, Ditz, No Age, Part Chimp, The Men, Hey Colossus, USA Nails, Sex Swing, Gnod, among many others!
