Red Money [FRA] / Los Funerals [D/MEX]

Garage-Post-Punk-Duo

"-Lately there is no other band on the underground scene that represents the antithesis and emboldens the decay of
rock-n-roll like The Funerals"

Their sound has been described as raw, uncompromising, and lyrically iconoclastic.
Espousing anarchist ethos and a disregard for the hollow, disposable trends of modern times— they have been compared to the likes of early Iggy and the Stooges, “except dirtier and harder.”

They came onto the scene in early 2010 with their first single, “Everything makes me remind you.”
The name of the band was inspired by vocalist, Chris Gasca’s family business— who remembers writing his earliest material between corpses laying’ on the coolin’ board ready to be embalmed or cremated.

He recalls fondly: “Those memories playing the first guitar chords amongst coffins….”
After years of frustration with the status quo as well as internal conflicts— the band took a two-year hiatus in 2012.

They rose again from the ashes in 2015— this time masked up in balaclavas as an anti-establishment statement— for their first European tour. After that they went on to play several significant festivals in Mexico such as the Marvin Gateway Festival, and MonkeyBee Fest. They were featured at the Freakout festival in Seattle, Washington in the fall of 2023.

Clearly influenced by the brutal, primitive Lo-fi sounds of bands such as Black Flag, The Sonics, and The Mummies —They have released 2 EPs, “WAR” & "Moldy Bacon"
And, most recently— their debut album, “OINK!”, in 2022.

The newly released album— lyrically inspired by George Orwell's “Animal Farm” where the ruling classes and elitists are satirically portrayed as pigs; as well as aesthetically by the vandal and anti-establishment "street art" of Blek le Rat and Banksy— features 11 tracks of heavy-hitting, shameless, iconoclastic punk rock.

The Band is currently residing in Germany playing occasionally gigs in different cities around Europe.
